Shadow Work Self-Reflection Deck
Background
I’ve always been interested in the felt, but often unseen, the misunderstood and the unaccepted, and bringing light to the dark.
I was fortunate enough to publish my first book, The Shadow Work Workbook, in 2022. When I began actively working on the book back in 2021 I felt it incredibly necessary to speak to the hidden pain points and trauma that so many people were going through. I still feel there is so much work to be done to increase self-acceptance, improve mental health, and become better community members through self-understanding.
Back in 2021, many folks were still feeling the acute impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. During that time we saw (at the time) record levels of grief, loss, and civil unrest. On more a more personal level, I know that so many folks found themselves in deep personal analysis which ultimately led to deeper self-understanding.
This exploration led to re-emergence in life with renewed clarity and insight, even if that was, at times, incredibly difficult. After all, changes are hard to make, but not impossible. Nor do you have to shame yourself for perceived character flaws, pain points, or mistakes. The path forward with shadow work can be liberating and rooted in deep self-love.
Shadow work, the process of exploring your pain, trauma, and imperfections, provides you with an opportunity to be with yourself with more intention and self-compassion. These are principles that I incorporate in my practice daily as a mental health professional and I’m glad to brings my renewed vision of shadow work directly to you.
I’m incredibly proud of the success of The Shadow Work Workbook and I’m grateful to adapt my book baby into an even easier to use, card-deck format so that you can more easily incorporate deep self-reflection in your daily and weekly practice. This deck also works well with other personal development practices, such as journaling, and the use of oracle and tarot cards. Shadow work is both a psychological and spiritual practice.
